About me

Edward Hayes is a tenor from Valhalla, New York, pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Florida Atlantic University (anticipated 2027). He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a Performance Certificate from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam (2025). Most recently, Edward was a hired chorus member with Palm Beach Opera for its 2026 season, performing in Rigoletto, Les pêcheurs de perles, and La bohème. He has performed frequently with Taconic Opera, appearing as Spoletta in Tosca, Normanno in Lucia di Lammermoor, and Gastone in La traviata. In 2025, he performed the role of the Ufficiale in the U.S. premiere of Amalia e Carlo by Pietro Carlo Guglielmi, and in 2024, performed the role of Edward Clarke, the lead tenor in the world premiere of Computing Venus by composer Timothy C. Takach and librettist Caitlin Vincent with the Crane Opera Ensemble. He has appeared as a soloist in recital and concert performances and has participated in masterclasses with Katherine Beck and Michael Ching. A multiple-time NATS award recipient, Edward, studies voice with Mitchell Hutchings.
